In another rebuke to President Barack Obama, 42% of Democratic primary voters in Arkansas chose attorney John Wolfe for president over their own party's incumbent, who won 58% of the vote. Wolfe defeated Obama in 29 of the state's 75 counties. While not as embarrassing, perhaps, as a similar result in West Virginia earlier this month, in which 41% of Democratic voters chose a federal prison inmate over Obama, it was a sign of deep discomfort among Democrats with their candidate.

On the Republican side, Mitt Romney carried the state easily, while conservative, Tea Party-backed Tom Cotton triumphed in the primary for U.S. House in the 4th congressional district. Cotton, interviewed by Breitbart News in December, is "a Harvard graduate (college and law school), an experienced lawyer and management consultant, and a U.S. Army veteran with combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has a very good chance at picking up the 4th district seat for the GOP, and may quickly become one of the party's young leaders.
