Police: Armed Burglar Cried When Homeowner Pointed Gun at Him

On July 23 an armed, 15-year-old burglary suspect in New London, Connecticut broke into tears when the armed owner of the home confronted him.

According to Fox CT, “an armed teenager trying to burglarize a home” in New London came face-to-face with armed homeowner Kevin Dennis, aged 29. Dennis is a Navy veteran “who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

Dennis said he heard yelling and came downstairs to find his brother and the 15-year-old “in a tussle.”

When Dennis pointed his gun at the suspect and told him to drop his gun, “the suspect complied.” The suspect then “broke down in tears” and asked someone to call police, claiming he had been “peer pressured into breaking into the home.”

“The 15-year-old… was charged with home invasion, first degree burglary, assault in the second degree with a firearm, [and] threatening and carrying a pistol without a permit.”
