White House Promises Tough Border Control in Executive Amnesty Announcement

Despite going forward with immigration reform alone, without Congress, the White House is circulating several infographics showing what President Barack Obama is doing on his own and what Congress has left to accomplish.

The images include three small ones–two of which promise tough border controls–and one large, overview infographic including those same immigration enforcement promises.

The graphic ignores the myriad statements and assertions from Republican lawmakers — who will control both chambers of Congress in a short time — that Obama’s executive actions will make achieving immigration reform improbable, if not impossible.

“If ‘Emperor Obama’ ignores the American people and announces an amnesty plan that he himself has said over and over again exceeds his Constitutional authority, he will cement his legacy of lawlessness and ruin the chances for Congressional action on this issue — and many others,” House Speaker John Boehner’s spokesman Michael Steel said Wednesday.

Further, the promises on border patrol run in contradiction to the Obama Administration’s record. Under President Obama, 68,000 criminal illegal immigrants have reportedly been detained but then released.
