Moms Demand Action Claims New Firearm Attraction Disrupts Orlando 'Holy Land'

Fresh off PR losses to Kroger, Fred Meyer, and Harris Teeter, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is now targeting “Machine Gun Alley”–claiming the new family-oriented shooting venue will disrupt “Holy Land” in Orlando.

Machine Gun Alley is set to open this weekend. It is housed in a “13,000-square-foot-facility” where individuals can rent and shoot machine guns or take part in simulated Wild West shootouts. The machine guns can also be rented by parents and their children “as young as 13,” as long as the parents give permission.

Tampa Bay’s 10 News reports that adults and children alike are “accompanied by a trained instructor” at all times.

Moms Demand Action’s Lucia Kay McBath denounced the opening of Machine Gun Alley, saying, “You’ve got Holy Land right there in Orlando. You’ve got Disney World, and Epcot. All places for family fun where they should feel protected.”

But Machine Gun Alley is not changing a thing. General Manager Bruce Nierenberg said the facility is about celebrating “American life,” and he pointed out that guns were integral to “how we gained our freedom.”
