Comedian Tracy Morgan: 'We Have Freedom of Speech, But You Got to Watch What You Say'

Comedian Tracy Morgan says that he has learned his lesson about the current climate America, after receiving a storm of criticism for a 2011 joke that he would stab his son in the face if he was gay.

“Everybody is supersensitive,” Morgan said, “We have freedom of speech, but you got to watch what you say.”

Morgan was asked about the controversial moment during an interview with the New York Times Magazine.

Morgan suggested that in the past, stand up comedians were able to make fun of society’s foibles.

Morgan said that his 2011 joke was an attempt to make fun of society, not espouse his own views.
