Jimmy Fallon’s initial days as host of The Tonight Show have put to rest fears he would be another President Barack Obama apologist working the late night circuit.
Monday night, Fallon lobbed a joke about Hillary Clinton’s sartorial preference, and the crowd didn’t laugh along with the punch line as expected. Fallon brought up Chelsea Clinton’s baby news to set up the gag.
“If it’s a girl it’ll get Chelsea’s old hand me downs, and if it’s a boy it’ll get some of Hillary’s,” he said – a nod to the politician’s penchant for pantsuits.
That drew a mixed reaction from the crowd, although Fallon defended the joke as nothing too cruel for late night fare.
