Crew Member Killed on the Set of Jackie Chan's 'Skiptrace'

A cinematographer was killed Wednesday while on the set of Jackie Chan’s new film Skiptrace

According to The South China Morning Post, Chan Kwok-hung is believed to have drowned after a boat he was on capsized off Lantau Island, at around 3am local time. 

Seven other film crewmembers were reportedly on board at the time of the accident, but all managed to swim the 30 meters to shore. 

Local industry associations are raising funds for man’s family, while police are looking into the incident. 

Chan Kwok-hung had more than 20 years of experience, reports Variety

Jackie Chan is not believed to have been on board at the time of the accident. 

Skiptrace follows a detective from Hong Kong, Jackie Chan, who teams up with an American gambler, Johnny Knoxville, to battle a notorious Chinese criminal. 

The film is believed to be one of the most expensive ever produced in China.
