The Gaza-ruling Hamas terrorist group held a military parade over the weekend in which thousands of jihadis marched through the streets, celebrating the 27th anniversary of the holy warrior organization’s founding, while calling for Israel’s destruction and praising its client-state, the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In July, Hamas provoked a war with the state of Israel by constantly bombarding them with unprovoked and indiscriminate rocket fire. The war resulted in the deaths of over 2,000 Palestinians, and dozens of Israelis. The discrepancy in deaths has been credited to Israel’s qualitative edge and its investments in defense systems to protect its citizens.
Hamas leaders stressed that its chief goal remains the destruction of Israel, as stated in its charter, Reuters reports.
“The illusion called Israel will be removed. It will be removed at the hands of the Qassam Brigades (military wing of Hamas),” said Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya.
Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu Ubaida threatened another war should Israel not rebuild the Gaza Strip, which was devastated in the summer’s 50-day conflict. “We will accept no less than the rebuilding of everything that was destroyed by the savage Zionist aggression,” said Ubaida.
Abaida also thanked state-sponsor of terror Iran for its generous donations of arms and supplies. “Thank you to all the people and the countries, first among which is the Islamic Republic of Iran which did not skimp on money, weapons, and other things and provided the resistance with rockets,” said the Qassam leader.
The jihadis marched through the streets to the approval of thousands of Palestinians onlookers, showcasing its M-75, R160, J-90 warheads.
Photos surfaced on social media showing pre-adolescent children marching along the parade route wearing military fatigues and armed with automatic weapons.
The Jerusalem Post reported that Hamas also flew an allegedly homemade “Ababil” military drone over the parade, which was perceived as an attempt at a show of strength. The Israeli Air Force (IAF) scrambled jets to monitor the threat.
