The leader of extremist group ISIS has called on Muslims across the world to come to the territory his group has seized to help build an Islamic state.
The Daily Mail reports that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, head of ISIS, declared in an audiotape that “the Earth is Allah’s” before saying: “Muslims, rush to your state. Yes, it is your state.”
Al-Baghdadi makes a special call to Muslims with practical skills, including doctors, judges, scholars, engineers and people with administrative skills, to “come answer the dire need of the Muslims for them.”
He also calls for jihadists to increase their fighting during the holy month of Ramadan, which began on Thursday, saying: “In this virtuous month or in any other month, there is no deed better than jihad in the path of Allah, so take advantage of this opportunity and walk the path of you righteous predecessors.
“So to arms, to arms, soldiers of the Islamic, fight, fight.”
The tape was released after the terror group unilaterally declared an “Islamic Caliphate” in the territory it has captured in Iraq and Syria, with al-Baghdadi as head-of-state, or caliph. Al-Baghdadi has now demanded that all Muslims across the world pledge allegiance to him.
Meanwhile, reports have emerged that the group are in possession of several long-range ballistic missiles. Photographs show the weapon being paraded through the streets of Raqqa, the proclaimed capital of the caliphate.
Defence analysts, however, say the missile is almost certainly inoperable and highly unlikely to pose a threat.
