Second Helping of Mama Grizzly: Sportsman Channel Renews Sarah Palin Show

She’s back! Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will be entertaining outdoors enthusiasts once again on Sportsman Channel. The cable network has renewed the original program Amazing America with Sarah Palin for a second season. After a successful inaugural run of the series, the show is scheduled to return in 2015.

Season one of the series was wildly popular and treated viewers to 12 unique episodes. Palin, along with three field hosts, delivered tales of adventure, philanthropy, inspiration, and fun each and every week. Season two promises to bring more stories of exceptional Americans when it kicks off early next year.

Not unlike her coveted endorsements of candidates or the unmatched energy she brings to any public appearance, Palin has made her mark on Sportsman Channel. Thanks to the “Mama Grizzly,” Amazing America with Sarah Palin propelled the network to triple-digit year-over-year growth in households and key demographics.

While viewers are pumped for a second helping of the show, Palin and Sportsman Channel brass are equally stoked. “We’re working on stories about people that go above and beyond to help others, really inspirational stuff that will encourage the entire nation,” Palin said in a press release.

“The return of Amazing America is great news for the network,” said Marc Fein, executive vice president of programming and production for Sportsman Channel. “Sportsman Channel has experienced tremendous growth this year and Sarah Palin’s involvement has proved to be an exciting boon for our network and programming initiatives.”

Sportsman Channel often refers to Palin as “First Lady of the Outdoors.” The second season of Amazing America intends to showcase our beautiful country by highlighting incredible stories, largely outside, with beautiful footage of God’s creation. American men and women will be introduced. From outdoorsmen to craftsmen to those who go out of their way to help others, a fresh crop of amazing Americans will be showcased.

Sportsman Channel has been around for more than a decade, but the addition of Palin to the “Red, Wild, & Blue America” lineup has rocketed the channel to new heights. The partnership is really a perfect match. Sportsman Channel is the only television network fully devoted to honoring a lifestyle that is celebrated by millions of Americans. Palin, a hunter, angler, camper, and athlete from the picturesque state of Alaska, simply screams outdoors. The show works because of Palin, and Palin shines because of the show’s content.

The announcement of a second season of Amazing America is great news for all involved. Sportsman Channel already reaches more than 36 million U.S. television households. Look for that number to steadily grow as long as Palin is a part of the mix.
