ESPN Reports on Michael Sam's Showering Habits: He's 'Respecting Our Space'

On Tuesday, ESPN did a segment on Michael Sam’s showering habits.

Seriously.

Hours before NFL teams have to cut down their rosters to 75 players, ESPN’s Josina Anderson reported from Rams camp that a “Rams defensive player told me that ‘Sam is respecting our space.’ From his perspective, he seems to think that Michael Sam is waiting to kind of take a shower, so as not to make his teammates feel uncomfortable.”

According to TheBigLead, ESPN’s Anderson added that defensive tackle Kendall Langford said he has not yet been in the shower with Sam, saying that “there definitely could be a million reasons as to why that is.” Anderson said that Langford noted that “he could be doing extra work on the practice field, he could be riding his bike, he could be doing extra cardio — but overall Langford said he seems to be adjusting to the life of the NFL and the speed of the game.”

Langford told Anderson that if Sam does not make the final 53 on the Rams, there may be other teams who could pick him up. MMQB’s Peter King also reported that teams would be interested in Sam if the Rams cut the NFL’s first openly gay player.
