Hillary: The Russian Reset Worked

Wednesday on NPR’s “On Point” when guest host John Harwood asked Hillary Rodham Clinton if both the Bush and Obama administration approaches to Russia have obviously failed and what can be done, the former Secretary of State defiantly claimed the “reset worked.”

Clinton argued it “succeeded” because “eventually [we] were able to get the negotiations (with Iran) that are going on now with the hope that something real can come out of them.”

Citing the currently abandoned nuclear negotiations with Iran as evidence of the Russian reset’s success, Mrs. Clinton said, “We brought to Russia around to understanding why we thought there needed to be international sanctions against Iran.” She added, “We got those tough sanctions and we eventually were able to get the negotiations that are going on now with the hope that something real can come out of them.”
