Diane and John Foley, the parents of James Foley, a journalist recently murdered by ISIS militants remembered their son as “the best of America” in a statement outside their home. His mother described Foley as a “courageous, fearless journalist, a very compassionate American. The best of America.” And “strong, courageous, loving to the end.”
His father added that “before coming home, he wanted to support his fellow inmates, he was always the first guy in line, the one who would take the bullet first.” And that he always wanted to help others
The family also expressed their appreciated the prayers and support of the public throughout Foley’s captivity “compassion” and “mercy” for kidnapped journalist Steve Sotloff.
