Report: Immigration 'Off the Table Through the Elections'

Jim Warren, former Managing Editor of The Chicago Tribune and current Washington Bureau Chief for the New York Daily News said that action on immigration is “off the table” for President Obama through the 2014 elections on Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Daily Rundown.”

When asked about the political calculus on issues like Iraq and Syria, Warren reported that the elections were also impacting issues like “immigration, which apparently, apparently is now off the table through the elections because they know they have got to keep the United States Senate.”

Warren also stated, “Even as we hit Labor Day, sort of the traditional moment when all of us start waking up and getting a little more sensitized to politics in a midterm, it is not beyond imagination that they lose the Democratic majority.”
