Tapper: 'Very Serious Mistakes' by Gov't Before Benghazi

CNN’s “The Lead” anchor Jake Tapper argued that there were “very serious mistakes made by government officials” before the Benghazi terrorist attacks on Thursday’s “Hugh Hewitt Show.”

“The problems were before Benghazi, there just was a lack of planning…an inability of people in the State Department to take seriously requests for security” he said. And “I don’t think that what was a very horrific incident and what were some very serious mistakes made by government officials, especially before the attacks, should be cheapened by false claims and false accusations.”

Tapper added that he believes the investigation of the Benghazi Select Committee should be carried out that there should not be “an artificial deadline” on the committee.
