Report: Feds Have ICE Officers 'Look the Other Way'

Jessica Vaughan, Director of Policy Studies for the Center for Immigration Studies, reported that federal officials have Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers “look the other way,” on illegal immigration on Tuesday’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto” on the Fox News Channel.

Vaughan argued that a draft solicitation for a vendor to produce ID cards by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services makes it look like “someone has given the order to go ahead and start planning for this executive action that they haven’t told the public what they’re planning, they haven’t told Congress what they’re planning, but they obviously have a plan.”

She added that such an executive order would be on top of “having ICE officers look the other way, which they [the federal government] already do,” when asked about whether the president is arranging for an executive order on immigration after the election.

Vaughan reported that there is an avenue for Congress to fight any executive order, saying “I think, in the near term, what is more likely to happen is that at least one branch of Congress would be willing to try to take steps to curtail funding for this, because our immigration benefits are issued on a fee funded basis…and that’s where Congress stands the most likelihood of trying to challenge them on it.”
