WAM Dubai, 20th Apr. 2014 (WAM): Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development will participate in Think Science Exhibition 2014, which will be held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Chairman of Emirates Foundation for Youth Development, from 20th – 22nd April in Dubai World Trade Center.
Khalifa Fund presents Ibtikari Program that was launched two years back to motivate the youths for innovation and creativity in technology and smart applications.
"During the past few years, Khalifa Fund was able to accomplish many essential achievements in the field of spreading the spirit of entrepreneurship and to encourage different society segments to innovate. That was done through the different programs launched and sponsored by the Fund since it is established in 2007. The Fund will continue its efforts to spread the culture of entrepreneurship by creating and supporting the activities aiming to encourage the Emiratis to innovate", said Abdullah Saeed Al Darmaki, the Chief Executive Officer of Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development.
He also emphasis on the Fund’s contribution to empower the Emiratis and increase their capabilities and encourage their abilities and discover their talents in order to empower the country development. "We invest in the human and this is one of the most important types of investment and the most useful to build the future", said Al Darmaki. He also encouraged the youths to think of establishing good projects with addition value to the national economy.
"The information technology sector is one of the promising investment sectors despite the competitiveness from the big foreign companies. In addition, the Fund will provide all possible support to guarantee the success of any technical project that apply to the Fund’s financial conditions", added Al Darmaki.
Al Darmaki ensures that investment in youths is one of the Fund’s priorities. In addition, he praises the time and the big efforts given by the Emirates Foundation for Youth Development in organizing the national exhibition "Think Science", and the directions of HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Chairman of Emirates Foundation for Youth Development. Al Darmaki also praises H.H’s keenness to support the talented and creative Emiratis.
"Khalifa Fund and Emirates Foundation’s efforts meet in the same point of empowering the emirates and develop their abilities and encourage them to innovate. Both entities are adopting the scientific approach in diffident fields. That all come as a conclusion of an agreement signed between both parties recently", explained Al Darmaki.
The main purpose of the Fund’s participation in Think Science exhibition is to present the different programs and initiation for the youths.
This exhibition is considered one of the biggest exhibition that is specialized in presenting the youths’ scientific and technical projects and innovation in the country and Middle East. The exhibition aims to encourage and empower the Emiratis youths their ages between 15 – 24 years. That aims to choose science as a study and career field.
The exhibition is considered as a platform for youths to be connected with industrial companies to discover the youths’ energy and their creativity and innovation. Also, to encourage them to develop their knowledge and analytical and scientific skills in order to be ambassadors for knowledge and science in the country to help in finding smart solutions that servers the national economy.
