First 'Taken 3' trailer sees Liam Neeson framed for murder

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 30 (UPI) —

Liam Neeson stars in the first trailer for Taken 3.

The 62-year-old actor returns as Bryan Mills, a highly skilled former CIA agent framed for his wife Lenny’s (Famke Janssen) murder. Inspector Franck Dotzler (Forest Whitaker) is tasked with taking the character in, but Mills evades capture to pursue the real killer and save his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) from a similar fate.

Taken 3 is directed by Olivier Megaton, and produced by Luc Besson. The film is the final installment in the series, and co-stars Rade Serbedzija, Leland Orser, Jon Gries, D.B. Sweeney and Luke Grimes.

Taken premiered in 2008, and sequel Taken 2 followed in 2012. Pierre Morel directed the first film, while Megaton helmed the second. The movies have earned a combined $602 million at the box office.

Taken 3 opens in theaters January 5, 2015.
